Welcome to the Old Egbertian Association Website
St Egberts College, The Ridgeway, Chingford London E4
The Old Egbertian Association was founded in 1927 and went from strength to strength until 1939, when the Second World War saw most members serving their country. In 1946 as members returned to civilian life, the Association was reactivated, and along with the Old Egbertian Football Club, provided opportunity for members to meet socially and participate in sport.
With the closure of the College in 1970 the focal point was lost with the Association becoming moribund
leaving the football club as the only visible connection between the College and former pupils. The football club continued for many years before sadly folding at the start of the 2018/19 season.
In 1998 a number former pupils decided to reactivate the Association and an initial meeting was held at the Chingford Cricket Club when it was decided that there was sufficient interest to reform the Association. Since then the Association has gone from strength to strength and has about 100 members who enjoy
regular newsletters and social events.
For those former pupils who have moved out of the area, you may like to view this short video highlighting some of the Chingford’s landmarks, which maybe familiar to you. Click to view video
If you attended St Egberts College and would like to help maintain the continued existence of the Association then we invite you to join, and would encourage you to spread the word to your peers that the Association is alive and well.
You can join the Association by going to the membership section.
Thanks for visiting
